Melissa Peretti, Owner & Studio Principal

We’re all familiar with the saying “Home is where the heart is”, but so many of us are living in spaces that are uninspiring, lacking function and not really ‘us’. I think life’s way too short for that.

I’m Melissa Peretti, a Toronto-based interior decorator with a passion for uniquely beautiful and perfectly practical design.

This passion led me to found MPI+D, which specializes in providing full service, turnkey interior design to residential clients in the east end of Toronto.

I believe that your home should reflect what makes you, well, you. That’s why I strive to create warm and wonderful spaces that perfectly reflect the people that live in them by incorporating personal, unique and collected elements.

I’m a maker at heart, with a knack for re-thinking and re-purposing the quirky, meaningful elements that tell your story and give your space its soul. Infusing your home with personality, beauty and function is my ultimate goal.

Ashlea Russell, Operations Manager

Ashlea Russell is my right hand when it comes to delivering spaces that are uniquely beautiful and perfectly practical for modern life. Combining her interior design studies at George Brown College with her extensive business experience, Ashlea works directly with clients and the trades to implement the design plan.

As Project Manager, Ashlea is involved in the day-to-day project implementation and oversight activities. She enjoys being hands-on: collaborating with builders, vendors and fabricators, making site visits as necessary to ensure the design plan is executed as intended. Another way of saying this is: Ashlea helps make the magic happen.

Born in Northern Ireland and having traveled to over 40 countries, Ashlea understands that just as every country has its own story and style that makes it special and unique, so should a home.

Stephen Postma, Operations Manager

As Operations Manager, Stephen Postma, is responsible for much of the behind-the-scenes operations at MPI+D. He places and tracks orders, coordinates with vendors and loves to manage all of the moving pieces involved in turning a house into an incredible home.

Stephen brings considerable experience to this role. Prior to joining MPI+D, Stephen spent 8 years as the Operations Manager of his family’s Benjamin Moore store, where he did everything from colour consultations, product selections to the day to day running of the business.

In addition, Stephen spent significant time in the hospitality industry where he focused on ensuring that clients had a terrific, stress-free experience. This client-focused mindset carries over to his work as Operations Manager at MPI+D.

In his downtime, Stephen enjoys traveling and camping with his husband, exploring and getting inspired to create beautiful spaces in their home.
