Owner & Studio Principal
A Toronto-based interior decorator with a passion for uniquely beautiful and perfectly practical design. This passion led Melissa to found MPID, specializing in providing full service, turnkey interior design to residential clients in the east end of Toronto.
Melissa believes that your home should reflect what makes you, well, you. That’s why she strives to create warm and wonderful spaces that perfectly reflect the people that live in them. With a knack for re-thinking and re-purposing the quirky, meaningful elements that tell your story and give your space its soul.
Ema Lyons

Owner + COO
Melissa and Ema have been best friends since their days as Image Arts students. Their paths diverged after graduation when Ema moved into the corporate world. Their stars recently aligned, and the long-held dream of eventually working together has been realized.
Ema’s role is everything outside of design that can improve your customer experience—back-end processes, how we leverage our relationships with suppliers, ensuring we meet customers’ budgets, and the list goes on.

Stephen Postma

Operations Manager
Stephen Postma, is responsible for much of the behind-the-scenes operations at MPI+D. He places and tracks orders, coordinates with vendors and loves to manage all of the moving pieces.
Prior to joining MPI+D, Stephen spent 8 years as the Operations Manager of his family’s Benjamin Moore store.
In addition, Stephen spent significant time in the hospitality industry ensuring that clients had a terrific, stress-free experience. This client-focused mindset carries over to his work at MPI+D.

Melissa is the only designer in the Toronto area who brings a photographer’s eye to your project. In her previous career as a successful commercial photographer, Melissa brings a unique lens through which she sees space and design (pardon the pun).
