We spend approximately 50% of our lives at home. But SO many of us are living in spaces that are uninspiring, not really ‘us’ and/or lacking function.
I don’t know about you, but I think life’s way too short for that.
I’m Melissa Peretti, a Toronto-based interior decorator with a passion for whimsy and clever design – and I’d love to help you create a space you love.
Whether it’s an entire main floor or a four-year-old’s bedroom, my goal for every space I design is to infuse it with warmth, personality, and practical features that make it not only awesome to look at, but pretty awesome to live in, too.
I’m a maker at heart and have a knack for re-thinking, re-purposing, and creating beautiful things out of (almost) nothing. I believe that the soul of a room comes from the elements that are a bit quirky, mean something, and/or tell a story – above all, my goal is to infuse your space with creativity and personality.
No matter what you hope to achieve in your home, we start with an Initial Design Consultation. It’s a bit like a first date: our opportunity to meet, ask a ton of questions, and get to know each other. (I’ll also provide as much value to you as I can in the 90 minutes I’m with you in the form of recommendations, ideas, and answers to your questions.)
My goal is to make the process fun, accessible, and as stress-free as possible for you. If you’re interested in moving on to a design package from there, I’ll walk you through your options and, should you decide to proceed, the cost of your consultation will be credited towards the package of your choice.
Prior to becoming an interior decorator, I worked in the world of commercial photography for 16 years. I took the first integrated arts program in the province in Peterborough, then burned rubber to get to the big city and get my arty on at Ryerson for photography. I was hired right out of school as a photo producer and a stylist, and eventually ducked back behind the camera to shoot all kinds of things – from fashion to commercial to children – for several of Canada’s largest brands and publications.
