From the Pinterest 100 Trend Forecast
I think we can all admit 2016 really bit the big one over all. (#fuck2016). So lets look forward to 2017!! Starting with our homes we can build the foundation, our safe place, to show 2017 what we are made of, and that we are not going to take 2016 lay down.
Here are my favorite pins and picks to go with each 2017 forecasted trend….
1.Blue +80% I’ve been loving blue for a while. A blue couch, deep blue curtains, painting a piece of furniture in a deep luxurious hue. But mostly loving deep blue walls. Everything else in the room just pops off them, yet the colour is so sophisticated and tranquil.
2.Wood tile +51% Regular parquet? No way. Patterned wood effect tiles add so much lovely detail, even if only used in a little space like a tiled “rug” in the entrance.
3.Nightstands +721%.Bedside tables are the new bookshelf. (This will be my self imposed – mandatory Ikea Hack entry for the list.)
4.Farmhouse style +40% Mixing a little country into your vintage, or with industrial salvage look, is the right way to go for a home with lots of layered character.
5.Hygge +285%. Pronounced “hooga,” it’s the Danish concept of living simply. Read more about it here.
6. Marble wallpaper +303% Yes please!! Check out this story on Dwell. And you can order some here.
7.Acrylic décor +50% I used this bent acrylic coffee table from Structube in room I recently wrapped. In a small room acrylic allows the light to shine through it, adding sparkle without feeling like the piece is taking up much space.
8.Copper +90% Metallics aren’t going anywhere. And mixing different ones will earn you bonus points in that creative home character building we were talking about. I’m putting these pretty things above a vanity in a bathroom reno I’m currently working on.
9. Hanging Plants +100% Adding living greenery is still very big next year in the world of design. And it’s always a heathy idea as plants help clean your air and keep the toxins inside your home to a minimum. Try trailers or hanging herbs for another added bonus.
10.Heated floors +54% Underfloor heating is one of the most cost effective ways to heat your home, but not much to show here. So I’ll show you this awesome Pin, it has it all! Copper, blue, marble, acrylic coffee table and a whole lot of hygge.
Hope you found some inspiration here! A little something to help guide you if/when you get that nesting itch after all the holiday decor has been packed away.
